The advance of Artificial Intelligence is breathtaking. In each new GPT model, the functionality improves on a geometric basis. Soon agents will interact with other agents streamlining full processes. Less-skilled workforces can tap into the experience of an organization through creation of custom-GPTs that include all of the existing knowledge of the organization. AI will enable new business models to provide true outcomes rather than service inputs.
However, the challenges and risk of adoption are significant. Many smaller companies do not have access to the talent or tools to tap into these new capabilities. Customers are often uncomfortable with their use. Cybersecurity and privacy risks exist. So in many cases, testing and advancement lags.
At BACbone, we have been working with the pre-cursors of these technologies for the past decade. We have dived in to the latest models to understand their pros and cons. We have been applying AI to a range of different business service outcomes to build customized capabilities. AI success involves understanding when to use different public models, effective prompt engineering, where AI offers true efficiency and where it lacks the context to be helpful, how to tap into the internal datasets or create new internal data, etc.
